I saw this earlier today and my jaw just about hit the floor. It is so beautiful, I love that old score and the animation is perfect! I love it when animation used to look like that. I have always been an art guy but this movie has re-sparked my want to get into animation stuff. There just aren't words for the amount of praise I give this short film. Amazing!

I liked the original better. I think they still modeled over real people like Snow White????

why make them actually look like people? we have live action movies for that. it is more artistically interesting to do something NOT real in animation.

now as far as is this the type of animation that is appealing - it is a personal preference. i like the interpretation but i am more impressed with the execution of the project. it was also the way he interpreted the character with nods to previous versions yet keeping it fresh.

lastly I ask - was the animated batman series of the 90's drawn realistically? is the brave and bold realistic enough?

It's really well animated--the acting is great. The stylization is fantastic and has tons of personality. It's perfectly evocative of the classic feel it's shooting for. Every single frame is really well composed and the amount of care that went into all of it is really impressive. It such a rich and generous presentation. Very well done.
