Brightest Day Aquaman retcons?

I have to admit that I was never really interested in Aquaman until he became all surly and hook-handy, but he's by far the most interesting part of Brightest Day right now.

How much of this current storyline with Mera's home dimension and Black Manta/Aqualad is retcon and how much is going back to the Silver Age continuity from Aquaman's series in the 60's/70's?

Did Mera previously have an evil sister and was Manta tied to her home dimension in any way?

Mera came from another dimension, but I think the Manta connection and evil sister are all new.

I'm glad all that Orin crud has been retconned away. The hybrid son of a lighthouse keeper and an Atlantean princess is much more compelling to me.

Seconded. I would buy an Aquaman solo/team with Mera title after Brightest Day. Of course, that's assuming he lives after it. lol

Yes I think you'd like it....although Johns' is spinning some retcon stuff he's heading into "traditional" territory I believe.

Just read Brightest Day for now....and FYI...he ISN'T in EVERY issue....
