Gold/yellow & black /blue Comic Color Costume Inaccuracies?

Okay. Carried this idea over from another post.

Batman and Spiderman started out with black costumes, blue was used to show highlights.
After seeing Captain Actions Superman and Batman uniforms ( the FIRST and that line skimped on NOTHING) maybe Superman and Batman were suppossed to have gold belts and symbols.
So that leaves a lot of other guys who might be gold rather than yellow.
We KNOW Iron Man wasnt supposed to be yellow, rather gold .

    What do you think?

Yeah but CA, as much as I loved him gave Batman those funky horizontal or diagonal stripes on his cape, and a blue utility belt. Superman had gold on his chest symbol, but his belt was yellow.

I think the heroes have gone "over-gold". I love Alex Ross' stuff, but not everything ever colored yellow in a comic needs to be gold. I thought Jackson Bostwick looked just find in yellow. Gold lame would just look, well...lame.

Dr Fate's helmet (and I'm assuming other accessories).

I recall the satirical novel Superfolks (written in the seventies) did poke fun of the fact that the "Superman" character had blue hair.

Which twigged my memory as a kid of colouring Superman's hair blue in my colouring books because that's the way it was in the comics.

On the Super Powers:Galactic Guardians series, Supes actually had dark blue hair. It was kind of odd.

Dr. Fate's helmet should be gold. Maybe the belt buckles of a yellow belt should be gold (ala Adam West and George Reeves). I think Flash's yellow parts should be yellow, although they looked okay on the TV show.

There was initially something quite jarring about John Byrne's Superman and Lois when they debuted circa '86.

Just one issue prior, Superman's hair was still more or less blue...

Which was a concession of simple four colour press.

But things had advanced in the interim where there were smaller dots and thus a wider range of colours available.

Lois' brunette could now be differentiated from Superman's darker hair colour.

I like Gold On WonderWoman ...., But seriously dislike it on All other's. I prefer Yellow , for the Most part I believe.

Gold does work for realizim, with certain artists, like Ross , who's work is painted.

I grew-up with Comics ofcourse, so ofcourse Blue Hair Highlights Are in to Me.

I also understand that Blacksuited characters, like say WildCat or Black Panther, are meant to be Black, and the Blue Adds Depth to the Coloring of the drawings, But it's also fun with customizers to make that Blue Wildcat, because it works. Maybe not so much with Panther however.

Yeah, Wonder Woman is one of those characters who SHOULD be gold. Lynda Carter is probably influencing my opinion there.

The Byrne Superman freaked me out a bit with his gray highlights. Especially when other artists drew him. DC most have had a company policy that Superman's hair had to have those gray highlights. Under other artists, Superman suddenly looked like he needed some "Just For Men"!!!

In first grade we had a coloring page of a boy raking leaves. I colored his hair blue, the teacher said it was wrong, nobody has blue hair, and she made me color over it with brown. Later we had recess and I took a Superman comic up to the teacher and showed her that Superman had blue hair. that didn't go over well at all.
