I think Johnny is the only FF member who hasn't been dead, right?
My son would be bummed, if he didn't know the comics don't really matter anymore. Nothing in them has any lasting effect beyond 5 years tops now. Johnny is his favorite.
I think Johnny is the only FF member who hasn't been dead, right?
Yup. It was obviously his turn to be dead. Particularly since they pulled the Death of Invisible Woman TWICE in the past couple of years, and Ben Grimm died during Mark Waid and Mike Weiringo's run within the past decade.
And everyone remembers the Death of Mr Fantastic, mostly because of Invisible Woman's peek-a-boo outfit.
Johnny Storm meanwhile continues to hang out with Aunt May, Ms Lion and the rest of the Amazing Friends in the Ultimate Universe (although The Thing is purple and not rocky and oh yeah, Reed Richards is the new Big Bad/Dr Doom).
Although I've been enjoying Jonathan Hickman's run on FF and before him Mark Millar, I gotta say the last time I REALLY and TRULY looked forward to an issue of Fantastic Four was during John Byrne's run some umpteenth years ago. So I guess Marvel HAS to do SOMETHING to generate some buzz, albeit temporary, for what was once "The World's Greatest Comics Magazine"

It's things like this that make me jaded about these deaths...you just know he'll be back...
From Newsarama:
Now, if I were a betting man, I’d tell you that the new series launching in March with FF #1 has about 11-12 issues in it. Why? Well, 12 issues of FF would then hit to a lovely Fantastic Four #600 (say with a big return?), that’s why.
Only Uncle Ben, Jor-El, Lara and the Waynes appear to stay dead...and the jury is actually still out on Thomas Wayne if you follow any of Grant Morrison's Bat-crap. Oh yeah, and apparently Martha Wayne is a crack-ho.
