So this would be on the schedule for Fall 2011 then?Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging! -
A corporate exec? As long as they don't focus on that aspect, and there's more focus on Diana as Wonder Woman, it'll work. I want superheroics and super villains, not board room meetings and expense reports!
Oh, and I'm still holding out for Christina Hendricks as the lead. Probably won't happen, but a man can dream (sigh)."It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."Comment

It sounds promising that the lasso, bracelets and plane are in the script. So it's not a total re-imagining.
Does surprise me that Warners is willing to forgo a WW movie for a TV series. I guess that Joel Silver-produced movie that's been gestating for 2 decades was finally killed.

I wonder how the project would have fared if Silver didn't have the rights locked up all that time?Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Link to entertainment weekly story.
From my reading they've ordered a pilot. That doesn't necessarily mean it will make the fall or midseason lineup, does it?
If the pilot stinks, NBC wouldn't just go ahead and produce the series, would they?
I hope it flies. While I would like to see a WW film some time, having her on weekly TV would be great exposure. I know some (many) don't care for Smallville, but it has kept a Superman presence on the tube for a decade. And even with it in production, Warners produced a Superman film.
Kelly has a solid track record and has always written strong women into his shows. I too want to see more super heroics than secret-identity drama, but there has to be some sort of setting for back-up characters.
This is good news for fans of DC characters.
Of course, so much is riding on the Green Lantern film this summer. It needs to be a hit. If it does well there's a greater chance for Flash, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel and Aquaman to someday hit the big screen. If it flops, Batman and Superman might be all we'll ever see from DC on the big screen for the foreseeable future.Comment

Yeah, the pilot may never get picked up. Chances are, if it's filmed, they'll at least air it as a TV-movie or something. Which they may do before they commit to a full series too, although I think that practice has kind of fallen out of favor in recent years.
I think Captain Marvel should be made into one of these kid shows on CN, Nick or Disney. Some of them are actually pretty decent. An action adventure show with a bit of comedy and the old Big Red Cheese would go over great I bet.

It seems like a good time if any to do it seeing as Smallville is ending :( but us superhero fans will definitely need a new hero to watch after Clark is gone. I'm still hoping though that Oliver and Canary get a spin off together they are great characters on smallville and we have gotten some insight to thier background so it would be cool to see thier relationship grow but for now I'm really hoping they do WW justice I know alot of people got fed up on the meteor freaks in the first couple seasons of smallville so let's hope they don't get corperate stuff to much in depth
Also agree about Lynda Carter it's funny Kryptonsite just tweeted that. Just like Chris Reeve playing Dr Swann on Smallville and Anette O Tool as Mrs Kent with cameos of Helen Slater and Margo Kidder it's cool to see the passing of the torch per say from one generation to the nextLast edited by ozcollector1992; Jan 23, '11, 6:01 PM.Your powers on Earth may seem extraordinary, Kal-El, but we are not gods. - Jor-El (Smallville Season 5)Comment

I think Billy should ride around the country teaching moral lessons with some old guy he isn't related to in a windowless van.Comment
