I still have the original that was printed on the back of a catalog. Golden runs his fan page on FB. "Like" it and you could end up talking to him.

I have that poster too from a '70s ad catalog (can't remember which company ran it). I tried to get Golden to sign it at the Baltimore Con, but he refused to sign anytrhing except at certain times of the day, and then when I came back his "agent/girlfriend/handler" or whatever was arguing with people telling everyone he was too busy drawing to sign books (unless you would agree to buy his art book for $30, then she'd let him sign a couple for you). What a witch, and he was meekly sitting there trying not to make eye contact with anyone.
I did get him to sign a book for me 2 or 3 years ago, but even then he would sign only one book per person. Also I believe under orders from the handler woman.

He is one of the few artists I know of that has an agent or a highly visible agent. Her name is Rene Weinstatter,(?). I guess it worked to his benefit because he has had his art in a handful of museum exhibits and he has done art instruction and even has had a video tie-in made from TwoMorrows with his Modern Masters book.

I have been trying to corner him at a Con for since last year to show him my Micronauts Endeavor Model but I either can't make the Con or he cancels when I attend. He is aware of the albums of it on my Facebook Page but I can't be sure he looked them over. He never comments on them. So I have not been exposed to his agent but I assume she will not be happy if I approach the table with a big box and start pulling out models to show him as it will interrupt the flow of paying customers. But if I made 2 complete models to give as gifts, 1 for him and 1 for his agent, maybe I will be welcomed.

Renee Weinstatter used to be an assistant editor for someone at DC I think....Mike Carlin maybe?

Didn't Golden go to jail at one point during the Micronauts run?

I never heard about jailtime, but this was a kefluffle a couple years back:

If I remember correctly the jail time had something to do with drugs...I may be wrong. It's been more than a decade ago that I heard about it.

                        OUCH!!!

I would be BEYOND ****ed if that happened to me, but then again, I wouldn't have paid $500 for a Michael Golden ANYTHING...but that's just me...and I like Golden's stuff!!!

There were apparently four dissatisfied customers, which means there are three other commissions like this one.

There was recently a similar incident with one of Bill Sienkiewicz's commissions. He drew the customer a creature with a rather unusually shaped head.
