William Dozier's Wonder Woman Pilot 1968

Maybe this is common knowledge, but I had no idea that 60's Batman TV creator William Dozier tried to pitch a Wonder Woman pilot back in 1968. Its a VERY different take. Diana lives at home with an overbearing mom and WW is not the looker we knew with Ms. Carter.

Yeah the camp approach that worked for Batman doesn't seem to hot for Wonder Woman. But just think if it had....we could all be sitting around complaining and "wondering" why the '68 Wonder Woman series isn't out on DVD yet.

(as the narrator of the old Batman show might say)

"If ever a time called for it, if ever a matter warranted it, only one mighty phrase could sum up this dire situation....EGADS!!!!"

Oh hahaha, that reminds me of my Mum trying to get me to eat...

We can't be too harsh on it, it was 1968, and I don't think anyone can rival Lynda Carter to this day, in fact, this poor lass reminds me of Ugly Betty.

                  Very interesting anyway...thanks Bill!

Very funny and very 60's "camp".

Looking at it today, you have to put yourself in late 60's shoes--- when superheroes were considered oldhat slapstick comedy.

When Vietnam was raging in full force--- and the country knew superheroes were nothing more than a 40's pipe dream........ It was this decades way of degrading the older generations "fake heroes".

This pilot is quite predictable, for it's time.

Wonder Woman (not Diana Prince) was played by Linda Harrison (Nova of the Planet of the Apes) in this pilot.

                          That's awful.

Thankfully, our memories of Wonder Woman are made of this:

If that ever made air, it would have rivaled "My Mother the Car" for the worst TV show ever

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

I think this is actually worse than all the other failed Pilots for super hero shows I've seen except SUPERPUP and that includes the 1990's JLA show with MAJ wincester as Jonn Jonzz
