Every Sunday after church, my folks would drive over to the 7/11 for the Sunday NY Daily News, and my brother and I would score our comics with our allowances. Also, when offered, several Slurpee cups (Marvel and DC - we had no preference as long as it was a superhero) would find their way home with us.

Every so often, usually after report cards where presented and the grades were good, we'd get the old 1-2: The morning would see several comics and/or Slurpee cups waiting for us before breakfast and school, then the afternoon would see a couple of brand new Megos from my grandparents in our bedrooms. Ever see a kid spaz over a complete first set of Star Trek figures on the card? Ah, memories.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

      I bought All-New/All-Different X-Men from a spinner rack at 7-11 for years.

I bought my first Conan at 7-ll. Kmart introduced me to Spidey and Batman in the three packs.. Rexall Drugs had a sweet spinner rack that had a plethera of choices. The Megos were on the same Row.

My first comics were bought at the Walgreens near my house. My friend and I would spend the day riding our bikes to the store and reading, trading comics.

I rarely bought any new comics. On the rare occasion it was 7/11. Most of mine were usually birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, etc. I have a really good childhood friend who had a HUGE collection of comics and he would often give me some of his comics that he read and did not want to keep. I also remember going to a local comic book store with him occasionally. He would be purchasing some of the early Spidey comics which isn't saying that they were very old since this was early 1970's. I typically bought previously read Spidey comics for less than cover price and am surprised at how much some of them are worth today.
