Hey, if Nicholas Hammond could get his helmet hair in the mask...

That new Peter Parker reminds me of the guy playing Shaggy in the Cartoon Network Scooby-Doo movies!

I'd say both Dafoe and Franco were the best in the first movie as Norman and Harry. It was the only really 'murky depth' to the movie.., and gave it a lot of much-needed tension.

As for the other outings, besides the terrible casting, I HATE multi-villain movies..!! They never live up to their potential and typically detract from the protagonist/antagonist relationship and 'battle of wills' really good movie writing should build on.

Spidey 2 is BY FAR...the best of the trilogy.

Spidey 1 is good...except I hated the Green Goblin as RoboCop...that costume was atrocious...lol...although Willem Dafoe himself made a good Norman Osborne.

I HATE Spidey 3...what a garbage of a movie...Venom was a joke...Sandman was ok...the black Spidey costume did nothing for me...the whole thing was just badly made...oh man...I cringe every time I picture Maguire as Parker dancing...ROTFLMFAO...
Well said Hector. Pretty much my take as well. The origin sequences of the first movie really captured the Lee-Ditko era well. Aside from the Goblin's awful costume, DaFoe was great. His scene where he's "talking" to the Goblin is great. It still freaks my son out. Dunst was even pretty good in this one, and they made her look the part of MJ more in this one.

2 was pretty much perfect throughout. My only minor quibble is Dunst's apathy for the project is starting to show. By 3 she's practically sleep-walking through the movie. It didn't help that they made MJ an unlikeable, selfish whiner either.

Topher was horribly miscast as Brock/Venom. Maguire's "evil" Parker was laughable. Sandman was okay, but the whole Uncle Ben nonsense undermined the first two films way too much.

Most kids I know liked 3 best though. Go figure.

The reason why Sandman came out so good in #3 was he was a fave of Sam Riami's. Venom was forced on Riami to sell toys. Sandman needs to be paired with a classic villain not a modern one. Also this is where it hurts Marvel to have their characters spread out so far among different studios. With the amount of punishment Sandman was dishing out it would've been nice to see a comic-book accurate Thing, Torch or Daredevil show up and take Sandman on so Spidey could deal with Venom.
