Batman TV talk ... anything ever supernatural or extraterrestrial ?

Was watching Batman (1966) on the hub and a thought occured to me ...

There's never anything supernatural or extraterrestrial connected with the show ...

They're all just regular people but nuts (both good and bad)

^ Yup, episode #118..."The Joker's Flying Saucer" (guest-starring Cesar Romero's buddy from the Disney "Medfield" series, Richard Bakalyan)

Nothing 'paranormal'.. per se. The 'Flying Saucer' one has got to be one of the strangest eps, even for the third season.

I don't recall whether it was ever explained why those guys were green, since they were clearly not considered curious or noteworthy in the episode as 'Martians', or did I miss something..? I was going to rewatch that episode someday to try and make some sense of it, but haven't got there yet.

Batman did call upon some ancient spells to extend his breathing while under oil in one of the Tut episodes (can't look up titles now..).., but it depends on what you categorize as 'supernatural'..

Yeah, other than some vague hints at super-natural stuff in regards to Catwoman having nine lives, that's about it.

The Batman series seemed mostly grounded in the comics of the late 40s through mid 50s, after all of the dark, mysterioso elements had vanished, but before sci-fi became a monthly theme.

Well, wait a minute...what about Marsha Queen of Diamonds strange witch auntie? She did cast spells.

And Joan Collins as the Siren controlling men?

              ^ Good point.

Regarding the Joker/Martians episode, wasn't all that just an elaborate Joker-theme-crime ruse?

It's hard to tell from memory.. I'll have to pull out the episode and watch it again today. It was idiotic to see Batgirl and Alfred (?) tied up in the flying saucer flying around Gotham City..

I know most of the third season was bad, but it was a pretty bad episode.

Yeah, even as a kid I thought the flying saucer one was WAY over the top.
