    Superheroes on Canadian TV

Some of the newer cable channels are playing some old faves

Sun TV has Incredible Hulk, Wonder Woman and My Secret Identity.

Showcase Action replaced Birds of Prey with the Flash.

Teletoon Retro is playing Superfriends 3 times a day.

That's a whole lot more Superhero TV (at least old school ones) than we are getting South of the Border.

      >Sun TV has Incredible Hulk, Wonder Woman and My Secret Identity.

143 is showing "My Secret Identity" too.

BBC:K is showing "My Hero" as well as the original "Doctor Who." (Does he count as a superhero?

Someone was showing the original Batman tv show... I wanna say "Spike TV" but I'm not sure. Last year they had "The Green Hornet" too. (It was on Saturday morning right after Batman.)

Yeah I can't think of the channel but it's not Spike, it's an odd channel like "Lawtv" or something, I don't get it so I can't show my son.

Canadians don't get that channel. I think BookTV had Batman here last year.

I seem to recall a Canadian TV Channel called YTV and at one time, they aired the 2 SuperFriends shows that Boomerang won't even touch:

SUPER FRIENDS 1978: All 16 episodes with the Wonder Twins. Not that it makes any difference now since they are available on DVD.

SUPER FRIENDS: 80's Shorts: I've seen several of them from that channel and they were uncut. I've seen Haunted House, Mxyztplk Strikes Again, Scaraghosta Sea, and the lost episodes, Prisoners of Sleep, Video Victims, and Attack of the Cats all uncut. So I imagine they've all aired that way.

Too bad Boomerang won't air these particular shows.

                Cheers.

My Secret Identity. Ah, the adventures of Ultra Man and his Aerosol cans.

Retro just finished with the 78 series and is knee deep in those 80's shorts. My wife can't get over El Dorado's never ending supply of new powers.

YTV never gave the series a chance airing it once a week at 6 am until banishing it to 4 am, lucky for me, I had a colicky newborn.

Slightly off topic, but anyone know if the Hilareous House of Frightenstein airs anywhere in the Canadian thousand channel universe?

It's on like; a zillion times a day! Space shows it at 5 am or so, and Scream shows an hour of it every day around 7pm or so. (AND again at 3 am.)

Danka! I don't get Scream, but I think we get Space. Gotta love that Billy Van. I'm betting Eureka is probably out there somewhere as well.

We just got digital cable a week ago after ten years not having any cable. It's amazing how so much old TV has been excavated.

I dunno; I remember when the old independants showed this sort of thing as filler. For FREE!
