    Young Justice

Wow, this was quite good! I thought it would be good, but it was surprisingly intelligent and didn't try too hard to be overly "hip" like a lot of Cartoon Network shows.

I hear Aqualad is going to be the leader here. As a Robin fan, that put me out a bit when I heard it, but now I see why. One, Aqualad is the new character they can fully develop, and two, Robin was the leader on Teen Titans, so to differentiate the shows it make sense to not go in that direction.

Since Robin has been explored thoroughly on Teen Titans, The Batman, and of course BTAS/TNBA, it was nice to see a new approach. The tech-savvy of Tim Drake meets the "laughing young daredevil" interpretation of Dick Grayson is a solid way to go.

I have a feeling Speedy will be back as Arsenal, don't you?

I thought Superman's reaction to Superboy was handled well, and very interesting. If you had to stare your clone in the face, how would you react? They didn't take the easy way out by having Supes say "welcome to the team brother!"

All in all, this looks to be a great, well-thought-out series.

I really enjoyed it, nice charcter designs.

But does this new series mean no new season of Brave & the Bold?

Wish they would make a companion JLA show to go with this.

                I liked this quite a bit ...
I really liked the Fact that it seems as if the JLA ..., Isn't going away either. With Batman over seeing operations, Canary incharge of Training, and Red Tornado as the YJ Butler so to speak, made me really happy for Future Episodes.

The Cartoon was really well done. They did very well at making Everyone believable with thier respective skills and powers.

The Only downside for me if any ..., is I hated the Bland coloring Job. It was horrible, similar to a ton of Japanese animation. They also paused far too much before a fight, as if it were Dragonball-Z influenced.

                  >I hated the Bland coloring Job.

There's been a tendency to do this for a few years. It's an attempt to take away some of the cartooniness and make things feel more serious. This technique has been used by European cartoonists for decades (which is where the Japanese got it from) but for animation it only kinda works. It's too tough to really coreograph colour for a cartoon, (especially at the tv level) so you sometimes end up with things looking washed out and/or muddy. "GI Joe:Resolute" looked that way, but since they were dealing with military hardware I thought it worked. (Bright uniforms is a really bad idea....)

                  >They also paused far too much before a fight,

That's an old superheroism which becomes more irritating when stuff is moving: the HUGE blocks of dialogue before, during and after a fight.

                  >as if it were Dragonball-Z influenced.

Nah; the fights didn't go on for twenty episodes....

I was whelmed, I think my son and I have a new weekly ritual. I appreciate some of the changes they've made and also the wonderful nods to DC's past.

It was really good. Really really good. I'm looking forward to more episodes. The only thing that bothered me was Miss Martian. I hate the whole idea of her. I am willing to give her a chance but I'm surprised there was no Wonder Girl.

It's posted on fastpasstv for people to watch if anyone missed it or doesn't get the Cartoon Network. That's how I watched it. I was going to post a link here but I was unsure if that was allowed or not.

i loved it, so did my son.....his reaction said it all...."this is really cool dad"

I think Roy will be back as Arenal as well, they already show the female speedy in the promos for future episodes. I hope they add Wonder Girl to the mix too.

I think I read somewhere that the legal entanglements that kept Wonder Girl out of the Teen Titans toon have been lifted and she will show up in YJ.

                              UPDATE:

Titans Tower has a link to an article with Robin actor Jesse McCartney, as well as some behind the scenes images from the show. Looks like we were partially right about Speedy's comeback...
