I didn't care for dude playing Slade Wilson....the mini-Deathstroke spoiler at the end was ok but nothing great.
The Mera and Aquaman stuff was AWESOME though!Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging! -
I think they should pitch a spin-off series again with Aquaman but this time with Mera....I'd watch itThink OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I thought Mera would be window-dressing only (but very NICE window dressing) but she actually helped to move the Lois/Clark relationship along. And Aquaman got to take part in that too! And thanks to Mera (as Clark pointed out) he's left his "Aqua-Bro" days behind him.
Here's hoping they return for the big finale, if not sooner.
Slade was okay, and the actor did a good job with this version of the character, but I can't see him being the classic Wolfman/Perez Deathstroke, let alone the annoyingly-unbeatable version from the current DCU.

Welling has been executive producer and director (he directed "Patriot") since this series "turned the corner".
I wonder if anyone, including Welling, is entertaining the thought of making a spin-off series for Green Arrow or Ollie and a cast of some of the other characters we have seen as a combined team.Comment

While in some ways that would be fun but I have to give this idea a big thumbs down. While I truly enjoy Justin Hartley's Green Arrow, I just don't think he could carry a solo show for too long. And as far as a team up type I don't think DC would release enough of the heavy hitters to keep it really interesting. But then again that's just my opinion.
I guess I am just impressed by the direction the show has taken since Welling has taken on producer/director roles. I know there are many others involved (and some no longer involved), but I have to believe that he "gets it" on some level and has helmed the show to something more in line with what Superman fans would find "good stuff".
Last year was the best season to that point and he was Co-Exec Producer. This is the best year yet and he is sole Executive Producer.
I realize that "Smallville" will and probably has to end, but he is showing that he understands what makes a good Comic Book TV Series and I hope he will find some kind of superhero project to keep us all entertained with his talents and experience.Comment

Yeah, you're probably right. It would be pretty hard to do and though Smallville has been getting better by leaps and bounds, the audience has diminished every year from Season 1.

I've yet to even see a single episode, so I'm probably not qualified to post in this thread, but I see potential for these characters to continue. With Geoff Johns as the DCE creative director, there is very little they will take off the table.
If fan reaction to these guys continues to be positive, I could see a team-up series with GA, Aqua, Cyborg, Bart and all the others they have introduced over the last two seasons. Each week could be different story arcs and could even have separate film units to produce multiple episodes in a short time. It would sort of be like a live action Brave and Bold minus Batman.
If DC is seriously considering a Wonder Woman series, and that would be very hard to do without the cheesecake factor, then these characters have a shot. I never had an interest in Superman 90210, but I'd be all over a serious DCU series.
