I was at the comic store today, looked at it, then put it back on the shelf. I hate to say this but I think its one chapter of Batman that I can live without. I was curious if anyone got it and if its not as bad and I think its going to be.

Most you already think I'm nuts for enjoying Morrison's Batman run. So, your won't be surprised when I tell you that I thought it was FRIGGIN AWESOME!
Bringing Lord Death Man into the DCU is very cool! -
I'm following all of Morrison's bat-stuff in trade. It reads better in that format given all the little threads that weave in and out of the storyline at any given time.Comment

I wasn't going to but I picked this up after flipping through it....the artwork really caught my eye...Once I got home and read it the story was interesting so I might follow this first arc and see where it goes. Not that I agree with the whole premise, which I think is stupid but I will admit now I am curious...Mr Death Man seemed sorta cool...Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I ended up downloading it to give it a read. It was okay I guess. I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. I don't think I'll be collecting it. The premise bothers me as well. Batman doesn't/wouldn't trust random strangers with his mission. It takes him forever just to trust his Robin's completely. Anyway, the whole RIP till now has left me sour on Grant Morrison. I won't say he doesn't have talent. I will say I wish he stayed away from Batman.
I'll keep buying Detective and Streets of Gotham. I don't much care for Tony Daniel's Batman. I like his art more than his writing. But with his last issue, I don't even care for the art. It looked sloppy and rushed.
I like the Damian character. He grew on me. Especially after reading Batman/Superman 77. He teamed up with Supergirl and it was hilarious. I might start collecting Teen Titans again since they're putting him in it.Comment

I have it but haven't read it yet. So far out of the related titles I've read I liked Red Robin the best.Comment

I am absolutely delighted to see Yanick Paquette finding an audience in the "big leagues" now. He's the front of the pack amongst a few Francophone Canadian artists that really deserve higher recognition. I always feel like I'm committing a felony when I buy his original art since it's priced so reasonably.
His style is best described as a cross between Adam Hughes and Ryan Sook, with some Eric Powell tossed into the mix.
Those that appreciate his female figures might want to check out his earliest work for Eros/Fantographics.Comment

I really loved Chip Kidd's compilation of the existing Bat-Manga material.
Plus it was way cool to see all the Japanese memorabilia mixed into the volume as well.
It's strange how the Spiderman Manga has remained in print throughout the years while the Batman manga became obscure and lost over the decades. I guess it helped that Spiderman had the proto-Sentai show, while Batman was a dubbed western import.Comment
