Did anyone get that huge DC Comics Taschen book yet?

Amazon.com: 75 Years Of DC Comics: The Art Of Modern Mythmaking (9783836519816): Paul Levitz: Books: Reviews, Prices more

Pretty steep, but I'd really like to get it. Has anyone here read it yet?

I was drooling at this at a con recently.

I'm not even sure where I would put it... it would seem to require it's own stand or the dining room table to appreciate it properly. It definitely wouldn't fit on any of my bookshelves.

Flipped through DC Comics Year by Year: A Visual Chronicle the other day, was a bit disappointed that it focused so much on just the comics, given that the Star Wars conterpart of this book leaned towards culture and collectibles.

Did you see the Marvel Visual Chronicle? I would assume the DC one apes that format....just the comics...

The scary part is that Amazon's $126 is already marked down a third from it's SRP of $200. I'm sure a big cumbersome book like this will be showing up at the nick and dent outlets at a reasonable price at some point, but I don't expect something this costly to produce (and transport) would be printed in enough quantity to be remaindered.

I think Levitz is going to be DC's version of Tom Defalco... whatever his buyout deal was, it seems to include a set of golden handcuffs that keeps him in writing gigs both in comics and tie-in mass market books.

I sent in a bunch of photos and scans but I am unaware if any made the cut.
