    The Wolverine news!

THE news literally. It's news that they are adding THE to the title instead of 2 at the end.

Fanboard discussions this morning revolve around the word THE.

(and Darren Aronofsky using Chris Claremont and Frank Miller's original Wolverine mini as source material)

Claremont wanted Bob Hoskins as Wolverine. Circa The Long Good Friday.

As great and charismatic as Hugh Jackman has been for the box office and Marvel's coffers, he's definitely not the short stocky Wolverine of the comics.

I remember when The Batman came out. I was putting THE in front of everything as a joke. The Alfred. The Robin. The Wonder Woman.

But nobody calls Wolverine "The Wolverine". I wont likely watch this movie anyway. I remember how much I hated X3 (except for Beast or The Beast?) and then they announced Wolverine. I thought "They can't possibly screw that up! it's going to be great" and then it was just about the farthest thing from great I could imagine. Yet still better then GIJOE Rise of Cobra or Transformers 2. That truly was the summer of sucky movies that had potential.

          No ...
But People do Say The Knight from time to time.

When you say it like THEE ..., Instead of THU ..., It sounds cool, and not many Super Heroes can pull that off.

Dougray Scott was chosen to be Wolverine...but he was in doing Mission Impossible 2...and that movie went over scheduled for two months...so it went to the second choice, Hugh Jackman...

Scott also almost became James Bond...but Pierce Brosnam was picked one more time...and when it was ready for a new Bond...it went to Daniel Craig instead.

            Poor Dougray Scott...the man can't get a brake...lol.

But rumors are that he might be the new Saint...but with his luck...keep dreaming Scott...

I've read that they're going to totally ignore "Wolverine:Origins"(thank God!). I actually have my hopes up for this one. LOVE Jackman as Wolvie...and as long as the Script is good, and they Director does his part...we might get a decent Wolverine Movie.

I still haven't seen Wolverine:Origins so this one isn't very high on my radar....

You're not missing anything with "Origins". Bad CGI, weak plot...I say skip it. But the next one is based on Wolverine's Japan Saga.

                        Hmmmm....

SORTA sarcasm.... One thing that's bothered me about comics since the late 80's is that there's a huge tertiary industry based on "comic news;" and much like the 24 hour news channels they gotta fill space. So they make a big deal over stuff that really doesn't matter. It's death for comics since it draws attention WAY away from the content of the books themselves and onto stuff like who's doing the art, or what kind of paper they're using now, or (worst of all) endless previews that negate having to actually read the books when they finally come out.
