    Anyone else see Megamind?

I saw it this past weekend with the family and really enjoyed it. There are some great comic riffs going on in this movie, and most of them are handled in an original manner. But it actually has a story, and a darn good one at that.

Megamind comes off as a much more sympathetic Luthor (with maybe a bit of Brainiac thrown in) and Metroman is the Silver Age Superman meets Elvis.

The movie takes some interesting twists and turns beyond what the trailers and commercials have shown.

Another solid flick from Dreamworks, ranking up there with their best efforts. They still aren't at Pixar level, but I'd recommend it to anyone. A fun time at the movies.

The TV commercial with all the rapping in it triggered my "curmudgeon defense system". But the story sounds kind of intriguing - maybe I'll check it out on DVD.

The movie reminded me of the old imaginary stories from the 1960s where they would put a little twist on things. I thought it was good fun. The battles were really fun. Zac Snyder ought to play attention to it for his Superman movie. The more serious type of action in the movie is what I would like to see in a Superman flick

There was quit of few bits borrowed from comics and comics themed movies. Loved frozen-in-time lunch tray bit originally in Showcase 4, but also co-opted by Raimi in the first Spiderman flick.

^ I thought the same thing about Snyder walking out of the theater. The action scenes in this movie are the kind I want to see in a Superman flick. The flying, the destruction, they nailed it.

            The Brando riff was priceless.
