Darwyn Cooke created the awesome Batman Beyond title sequence among other things for Timm.

I'm not one to know artists all that well but I am a raving fanboy of Cooke. So much so that I know what he looks like and saw him shopping one day. It took some will power not to bug him.

Although he does credit it for his work ethic and productivity, I understand that Cooke was never very satisfied working in the trenches of animation, which is why he fled back up here to the land of Back Bacon and cold beer and produced Batman: Ego.



It was really cool that he came full circle with the animated version of New Frontier.

He used to haunt Dragon Lady/College st before he moved out east.

His talk about his creative process (complete with overhead video camera) on Saturday at the Fan Expo this year was the one shining bright light in an otherwise horrifying con experience.

Hands down my favorite current artist. I can't seem to study his work enough, I continue to notice new things. I only have New Frontier and The Spirit, but I'm going to have to track down EGO. any other recommendations?
