DC Showcase Superman & Shazam! - The Return of Black Adam

This DC showcase is the best yet! George Newbern and Jerry O'Connell reprise their roles of Superman and Captain Marvel from Justice League Unlimited. James Garner is Shazam.

James Garner? Rockford files James Garner?

Still don't like the idea of Superman being a part of this.
    Hey! Check out the pictures.

I wish they did not play the game of putting this out as an exclusive and having all the shorts from the prior releases....hopefully they put it on one of the next feature lenght releases because I will not buy it just for the one short

James Garner was Shazam, not Adam.

Enjoyed this quite a bit. Basic retelling of Captain Marvel's origin with Superman and Black Adam added. The art style was excellent. Would like to see it used more often with the DC features. It was stylized but more realistic than the Timverse norm.

Great super-powered throwdown between Marvel, Adam and Supes. Good stuff. I could see a Captain Marvel cartoon working, using this as a pilot.

I'd seen the Spectre short before, but it was fun to watch it again. To me, it's the high point of all the DC Direct to video stories. Really and truly like watching an early 1970s horror flick mixed withe the type of detective stories told in numerous TV series of the period. It perfectly captures the feel of the Spectre series from Adventure comics and other mystery books of that time. It even has a nice homage to the cover of Swamp Thing's first appearance near the end of the short.

The Chill of the Night episode from Brave and Bold TV show is also on the disc.
