Guess it depends on your take on the character . . . not to say anything bad/good one way or the other, but it just seems your take on Supes is younger and, well, prettier, while while others here see him as more mature and rugged . . . matter of taste and imagination.

Although, watch Caviezel in "Count" and maybe you'll change your mind a bit -- he plays the dual identity thing well, and it was actually his look and bearing in the scene when he strides from a just-landed hot air balloon with a big, red cloak flowing behind him that initially made me think of him as a contender for the Man of Steel.

      Just sayin'.

I've seen the "Count"...great Movie! And Caviezel is an excellent Actor. As far as "my take" on Supe's age...it isn't just mine. Nolan dropped one hint about his age...he said "I want the Movie to be about a young Superman, just starting out".
There's a reason WB named him the "Godfather" of Superman. After "The Dark Knight" made a BILLION Dollars at the Box Office, they'll pretty much let him do anything he wants. He has final say in the Script, he chose the Director...need I say more?

            Exactly...

I don't want a young and pretty metrosexual playing Supes...I want a Supes with some testosterone for Christ's sake.

I liked that Dude that Hector Posted ..., from True Blood. Keep that Teen Bop Choice Award Crap on TV.

Cavill looks like Gerard Christopher from the Superboy TV show. Why not just hire Gerard Christopher as he is older now an probably looks grown-up enough to play a Super-MAN. I don't know if he has the acting chops for the big screen but still...

Hey! That's the first Superman casting suggestion I completely agree with you on!

                          Here's another possibility.

                          Ryan Mcpartlin

He's 35, could play 30 and is a comic geek. He's 6'3" and is fairly chisled, though he would need to put on a few pounds to be convincing. Just imagine him with black hair to get a feel for this idea. He's been on Chuck and a few other shows. I don't know of his acting skills, but I think he embodies the look pretty well.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I can see that(dye his Hair black). He has the Superhero Jaw which is very important...and he doesn't look like an old Geezer like John Hamm.
