Ghost Rider II budget slashed from 135 to 75 mill!!!

Kind of begs the question. Why bother? I can't think of any hero film that can look good on that kind of budget. Perhaps it will be a straight-to-video release?

seems that Cage's career is in the toilet. too bad, I liked the first movie although admittedly it was not a great movie, just a fun one. hopefully they can still pull off a good movie even with the tight budget.

A quick IMDB search shows the two guys in the director's chair helmed the Crank movies and Gamer, and were also involved with Jonah Hex. Probably gives some indication of where they expect this one to end up.

Domestic gross for the first one was $115,802,596, and about the same internationally. It's on cable constantly and it was probably quite popular on DVD. 75 sounds about right to ensure profitability based on the track record of the directors and the previous film.

"The Crank" movies were fantastic. Those guys wrote Jonah Hex, and really know action movies, but the guy who directed it only directed one other movie before, "Horton Hears A Who!".

Getting a guy who had only directed once, and for an animated movie didn't make sense to me from day one.

I liked GhostRider ..., Quite a Bit myself.
          The Gamer was alright ...
I really liked The Crank Movies .., for the most part.
Hex was ok to me..., wasn't great, but I didn't hate it either. Some of the fight scene's were far too dark.

Hollywood sems to think you can only make good movies with big budgets, while time and time again it has been proven that this isn't the case.

I did too. Not a great film, but entertaining and surprisingly true to the original version of the character. I'd be curious about a new one.

I hated the Ghost Rider movie so much...it looked like it was going to get good when he teamed up with the Cowboy Ghost rider and they rode through the desert to some inspiring rock music, then they just stopped and the Cowboy was like "well this is as far as I can go!" and then left. My mind was officially boggled at that point and I no longer cared what happened after that.

I was disappointed because Ghost Rider was a favorite character of my late Uncle and I went to see it thinking of how much he would have wanted to go with me. Then it was just a big let down. I haven't seen it again since.

my major complaint with the first one was too much of Nick Cage in his bad hairpiece and not enough flaming skull and bike. I can't imagine that it'll be a better ratio in a sequel if the budget is cut in half.

I thought the Kid who played young Johnny should have been the Ghost Rider. Cage is too Old.....I kept yelling at the screen shut up and change already to GR.....

Recast the Part get a young kid Freek Cage.....

I've never been able to sit through it, I'm one of those people that has problems watching Nick Cage in things. The only exception lately was Kick ***, where his acting style seemed to suit the part.

Cage's Wicker Man has to be one of the worst re-makes of recent times. Conversely, this abbreviated version is fantastic... much better than the whole movie

About Neveldine and Taylor, I thought Crank 1 & 2 were fantastic, though I enjoyed Gamer far less...

Those dudes do know how to stretch a budget. I don't think they could make a movie worse than Ghost Rider 1
