The Mill Case Comic Book Protector

I'm thinking of purchasing a few for my better quality comics and was wondering if any of you use them and what you think of them. They are supposed to be acid free and I like the idea of placing some of my more valuable comics in it but wanted some feedback first.

I do see they carry them at A.C. Moore and was told they sell for 5 for $19.99 which is about $4 a piece but there is a coupon which would bring it down for $14.99 which is about $3 a piece. I don't plan on placing all of my comics in there, just the more valuable ones. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks

This seems like a good, honest review:

It seems like it's worth giving a try. The ones sold at A.C. Moore are stated for Modern Comics and some smaller Silver Age comics. Not sure if my nicer Spidey comics will fit but it's worth a shot to pick up 5 of them at A.C. Moore with a coupon and give it a try. If they don't fit, it looks like they sell storage for Golden and Silver age comics direct. I don't really read them much anymore but still love the cover art. For me at least spending $5 on a nice storage item is worth it on a $100+ comic.

I have a few of them for my Older Silverage Comics...I have them since 2008 and they're great especially if you want to display them. They're not hard to take out from the case either.

Thanks....I just placed a few of my older spidey comics in to see if it would fit and it was exactly the right size. A.C. Moore carries them 5 for $19.99 and they always have a 50% off one item coupon each week. There is one real close to my work so I don't mind going out during my lunch break and picking up 5 of them for $10 until I have enough. They really do look nice display wise and gives me a better sense of comfort (maybe false sense of comfort) of having them in there vs. a mylar bag and board especially for some of the older issues that I have that are worth over $100 per comic.

If you have a Container store near you or an art supply store you can get Tiny easels to Display some of your comics in those cases on......you'll have a great conversation for your home when friends come over.....

That's a great idea....thanks. Those protectors even make some of the lesser condition comics look good. Like I said, A.C. Moore always has a 50% off coupon and it's near my work so I can go in and purchase a 5 pack for $10. For $2 a piece, I don't mind putting a couple of hundred dollars and archiving my best comics. Plus, like you said, they can be displayed and make a nice display piece that you can rotate out comics every now and then.
