My vote goes for Alan Rickman. The kids will know him from the Harry Potter movies,so that'll pull them in. We know he can do this type of role from what he did with Die Hard.

for Zod I would prefer a more grizzled looking actor (more in keeping with the idea he was an older warrior general) say someone about 45-55 years old. I would actually prefer an american accent (even if it's a brit actor) just to differentiate the performance from Terrence Stamps

the filmmakers have already said (as of this weekends Dark Horizons report) Routh isnt in contention at all. I hate to say this, but it might be Welling. the plot of the film apparently revolves around a young Clark Kent deciding how best to use his powers....ie--becoming Superman. That storyline smacks of a Smallville upgrade.

Yeah, that is TOTALLY the direction this season of Smallville is taking. Man, I'll be keeping my Fingers crossed....WELLING FOR SUPERMAN!!!!

Agree on Butler as Zod though....although I was hoping for Brainiac for main baddie.
