    Superman/Batman Apocalypse

I picked this up today, and just finished watching it.

I enjoyed the Flim, but for the most part, I have loved all of DC's New Direct to Video Offerings.

For those not Familar with the Story, It was Origionally Represented in the Pages of Superman/Batman #8thru#13. It is Written by Loeb, and Drawn by the Late Micheal Turner. You can probably get the series in Trade Now, I believe as well. IMO ..., It was Turner's Best Series Ever as a Comicbook Artist, and Showcased his Best Layouts and Designs, as well as his Great Vision for the New SuperGirl Costume. The Story Introduces a Brand New Supergirl That has now been around for the better part of 6 yrs. It is Chopped full of Special Guests , from WonderWoman and the Amazons , to DarkSied and His Minions.

The Toon Follows the Story of the books really Good, as well as Closely.
Kevin Conroy Returns as the 1 TRUE voice of the DarkKnight, with Tim Daily hanging out as Superman. The Animation closely Resembles Turner's Art work as well . The Knock Out Drag out Fight at the End between Darksied , Superman and Supergirl is Outstanding.

The Green Arrow Animated Short is great as well.
It was almost like reading a 1 Shot Comic, with Black Canary, Merlyin and Count Verdigo all making apperances. GA was his Witty Smart Arse Self, and made the Toon alot of Fun.

I Enjoyed both, I haven't gotten time to look at everything else yet ..., I have to work Graveyard again tonight.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

Another great entry in the DCU movies. It takes me a bit each time to get used to Conroy and Daly's voices coming out of the different style animation, but after I get used to it, I'm good. Conroy was great as usual, and Daly delivered a believable Man of Steel as always, and even emoted a bit more than his usual more stoic performance as Superman, due to Loeb's more flowery dialog.

I didn't care much for Andre Baurer's Darkseid at first. He seemed to be doing a very well-spoken but cold reading off of a set of cue cards. But by the end of the film he seemed into it, and gave a strong performance. I still prefer Michael Ironside, and heck even Frank Welker, as Darkseid.

Good to hear JLU's Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman again. Wonder Woman is in the flick as much as Supes and Bats (maybe even more than Bats), just like the comic.

The art direction did a good job of capturing Turner's style, without making it read wrong for animation.

The Green Arrow short was a lot of fun and crammed a lot of characters into 11 minutes, but it worked well.

Recommended for any super hero fans. But watch the kids, it's a bit violent and the language is a bit salty at times.

I liked Andre Baurer's Darkseid but, thought he spoke too quickly. IMHO he should have been more reserved with his speeches. Just seemed a tad off to me. Other than that, I enjoyed it. I was surprised they included Harbinger. I thought she would have been cut out for time. I always liked her and wished her a better fate.

I'll be watching it later today when I go buy it.

I had forgot yesterday was Tuesday and it was released. About 9:30 last night it dawned on me and I rushed over to Walmart which I knew to be still open. I looked all over the place in the video section but couldn't find it. As it turns out they aren't carrying it because its 14A (PG-13 in the states) and they would prefer it to be PG. So I'm off to a real store today. But what I find puzzling is that they had a whole rack of True Blood DVD's which is most certainly rated R...

Anyway, back on topic, I hear good things and I'm excited to see it!.

My son and I watched this earlier today, and I have to say I think it's now my favorite of the DC animated offerings. Can't wait for All-Star Superman!

I enjoyed it. My only minor gripe was that I just couldn't quite get used to Andre Baurer's Darkseid.

I remembered not really caring for the comics the movie is based on, but it worked really well as an animated film. Enjoyed it quite a bit more than Public Enemies.

I never was a huge fan of Turner's art, but I liked his style on this animation quite a bit. It translated to animation really well. I may have to dig out the originals and try them again
