Ok. As soon as you see it feel free to discuss. I won't much since a lot haven't seen it yet. Some questions answered. Some cool things. More questions raised.

I love Smalville but am on the fence with the opener. Some really cool stuff to watch but too many subplots in one episode for me I think. Then again, if the do not stray off topic and spend a few episodes developing the storyline I may have to eat my words."Procrastination is the art of planning for tomorrow."Comment

Great opening, with TONS of stuff going on. It acted more as a primer for things to come, even more so than usual, but then again, this is the final season. Lots to get to.
I don't really think this is a spoiler, but one of my biggest questions throughout Smallville has been, why is Jor-El such an arse? Is it just because he's voiced by Terrence Stamp? Is the Smallville Universes' Jor-El just a REAL tough love dad?
The snippet of the big bad was encouraging. And man, I miss John Schneider!!!
Looking good for the final go-around.

HOLY FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!
This season should go out with a bang I hope!
I will admit there were some points I was less than enthused about but overall I was pretty darn satisfied.
My gripes: SPOILERS>>>
The Superman Returns suit...well I guess someone should wear it since it's gathering dust.
I don't think there's any doubt Clark will be in that suit by the show's end.
The Green Arrow/Chloe subplot....who are these (kidnappers) people? Why should I care?
The Luthor clones.....ok suspend disbelief that the clone might not be an EXACT copy (No Michael Rosenbaum) but I didn't quite care for that. Maybe if M.R. had played him I would have.
Tess Mercer...this character has run it's course and I don't care about her.
The dream sequences were a bit disjointed as well.
Darkseid...not sure what to think of this yet...either will be awesome or suck.

i like the luthor angle. i thought the casting was great as well.
dream sequences are supposed to be disjointed -no?Comment

Like I said, I would have liked the Luthor stuff better had they got the original actor. It just bothers me when they change actors for things like that. It draws me out of the fantasy.
Lol. you got me there. I suppose you are right on that. Maybe I just don't like dream sequences. I hate not knowing if what i saw was in the charcater's mind or if it really happened. At least tell me afterwards...lol.

SPOILERS
I think the guy we saw beating Ollie was Rick Flag from the Suicide Squad. They are playing a part in this season, with Deadshot in the next episode. From the preview, it seems they are borrowing the slouched fedora look from Batman: Gotham Knight DTV movie.
From what I've read, this season's main thrust seems to be largely based on the 80s mini-series Legends. Darkseid, the Squad, and Glorious Godfrey (as G. Gorden Godfrey) are supposed to appear this season, and Godfrey tries to turn the tide against the heroes.
It was nice to see Darkseid LOOKED like himself, even though he was an odd shadow creature. Maybe Darkseid enters our dimension in a more ethereal way and influences people?
