    Tom Strong anyone?

I have always been told I'd probably like this book but have never seen a single interior page. What's up with this title and where in the world would I even start? I know Alan Moore does some strange stuff, so is this one that's really out there or did he pull it in a little bit and just write a good story?

Tom Strong is pretty much Alan Moore having fun with a Doc Savage type character. Similar to the treatment he gave Supreme. It's a great book.

Chris Sprouse usually handle the art, and most time there were multiple stories in an issue that would connect.

I believe it's available in either 5 or 6 Trade paperbacks or hardcovers.

Tom Strong is a great series & it's available in trade pb. There is also a companion series, Tom Strong's Terrific Tales that tells stories of a young Tom.

It's a great fun title, lots of Gold & Silver Age riffs (parallel earths, time-travel, space adventures, lost civilizations), really nice solid art throughout.

There is a current Mini-series going right now, Tom Strong & The Robots Of Doom, but I seriously suggest you read the original series first in order for it to make more sense.

It's Alan Moore's take on some of the pulpier sci-fi heroes. There was also a series(don't know if it's still going or not) about his daughter. I think it was called Terra Obscura or something like that.

          From wikipedia:
Terra Obscura first appeared in Tom Strong #11 (January 2001). Terra Obscura is alternate version of Tom Strong's Earth on the far side of the galaxy, discovered by Strong in 1968. On his visit to Terra Obscura, Tom meets his counterpart Tom "Doc" Strange, and the team of science-heroes known as the Society of Major American Science Heroes (SMASH). All the members of SMASH are based on characters previously published by Nedor Comics in the 1940s. With the original publisher's collapse, copyrights on the characters were not renewed upon 28 years of creation and so lapsed into the public domain.[1] One of Nedor's many titles was America's Best Comics, and when the coincidence of this was pointed out to Alan Moore, he decided to incorporate these characters into his Tom Strong series. For their 2000 debut, Moore created a backstory for them, covering the time periods during which they were not actually being published. For the Terra Obscura spin-off, Moore worked out plots with Peter Hogan, who then wrote the scripts.

Tesla Strong was about his daughter.

Oh, and he has a talking Gorilla which in itself is awesome!

I clicked on the link and was surprised to see Jerry Ordway was involved in some of these books. I loved what he did on All-Star Squadron.

Absolutely loved Tom Strong--the HC collections were worth every penny imo.

I'd recommend Tom Strong. Doc Savage meets the Fantastic Four. I really dig all the ABC books.

There was a Tesla Strong one-shot as well as the spinoff series Terra Obscura and an anthology title called Tom Strong's Terrific Tales.

They all all collected in trades, just start with the first one, although keep in mind that the end of the Tom Strong series is also more or less the end of the ABC universe and he brings in all his other characters for a Crisis like event (tying mostly into Promethia).
