    New "Man Without Fear"

....Sigh.....I really don't know why Marvel felt the need for the whole "Shadowland" storyline and the replacement of Daredevil as "The Man Without Fear"...

BLACK PANTHER: THE MAN WITHOUT FEAR #513

Plus, after all of the recent restoration of original numbering to a bunch of titles, Daredevil included, they go in the opposite direction and give Black Panther DD's old numbering....why? I'm sure it's because this isn't permanent (nothing in comics is anymore) and DD/Matt Murdock will be returning at some point.

Black Panther has always had a difficult time supporting his own title (in a way, he's DC's Aquaman, with a new book every few years it seems)...what makes them think he'll be successful this time out?

And for character that supposed to be super-agile, I can't help but think that those metal knee guard things will just get in the way...

Shadowland and the main Daredevil title I'm enjoying, but all the extra spinoff tie in minis and one shots are a bit uneven.

It's the bait and switch marketing. They did it with the Hulk when they turned it into The Incredible Hercules. Daredevil gets a mini titled Daredevil Reborn while Panther hangs out in his old numbering.

            >what makes them think he'll be successful this time out?

Is there a movie or something in the works? This smacks of a "try it, you'll LIKE it!" marketing ploy: get you to read it 'cos they KNOW you'll love the character.

Marvel seems clueless with the Black Panther. I always thought despite being a cool looking hero his stories were just plain boring.....

There is the BET animated series floating out there, and he's going to be in the new animated Avengers.

I think they have been trying to get a Black Panther movie off the ground for the better part of this last decade.

I actually love Kirby's gonzo run on the character (Kind Soloman's Frog!), and Christopher Priest's series was one of the best comics that nobody ever read IMHO. Partnering him up with Everett K Ross was terrific since he made such a great foil for the otherwise stoic Panther. It's a darn shame that he seems to have been retconned out of the picture. Priest's run was the first time T'challa seemed accessible and relatable thanks to the series being told from Ross' POV.

I'm probably the only guy who also likes Kasper Cole, the not quite dirty NYPD cop who took the mantle at the end of the Priest run and was The White Tiger for a millisecond in the pages of The Crew (Also highly underrated).
