Matt Lauer: Now Julie...When you talked to the people at Marvel...And I am hoping you talked to them at least once...Did they just refuse to show you any pictures of the Green Goblin?

Julie (laughing): No, Matt! They showed me TONS of source material. I just hate Comic Nerds and wanted all their heads to blow up!

I have to admit, I've been debating whether or not to buy the advanced tickets they are selling via American Express and making a weekend in NY of it.

If it's this bad, I'm going to have to go see it STAT or else I'll never get a chance to see it. If it's a Fail, at least it will be on the level of Legendary.

        Here's the song from it...

          Who's the female... Electro?

If that's the Goblin what is the likelihood that the Spiderman costume will look like this...

Here's the U2 and Julie Taymor interview.

I can't believe she's comparing it to a Pop Up book.

"Swiss Miss"?! Because she's like a swiss army knife.

Who the heck is this "Dr. Osborn" she keeps talking about? Talk about not knowing the source material...And with all of Spidey's great villains with great visuals and snazzy Ditko/Romita designs, they come up with "Swiss Miss"? Excuse me while I puke

[SARCASM]Simply LOVE the Green Goblin-by-way-of-Tinkerbell and Swiss Miss' costume designs![/SARCASM]

Ugh. Between the comics, the movie reboot, and now this... Marvel really, REALLY dislikes Spidey lately, huh?

It looked like some Broadway types said "Hey, that Lion King musical was based on a cartoon, and it won Tonys! Let's steal their costume designs!!!"

I saw the Goblin at a Hill's store in 1980, and he looked a helluva lot better than a million dollar Broadway production. Why do these "creative" types try so hard? Take the source material and adapt it.

Or in this case, just don't go there.
