Ugh... Where is the cheese to go with that wine?I get the concept in play here (and for some comic fans it may work), but to the general public this will not fly. Too conceptual and not commercial enough to work. He looks like a comic book nerd attending a costume party. It just doesn't translate well. To the general public he will not look like Captain America so there is no brand recognition here. It looks like something I would see on the SYFY network as I'm flipping channels.

How does he fight with all of that heavy looking, bulky gear on?Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I think part of the bulk is due to some kind of padding (fire proof or crash padding?) the stuntman has on under the suit.
Although I'm glad the wings made it on, the suit itself looks too modern (the shoulder pads and gloves for starters) for WWII.
the "Red Skull" emblem looks a lot like the HYDRA emblem to me. Is the film setting up the premise that Skull started HYDRA in WWII?
Probably a way of avoiding swastikas on the merchandising???"Crayons taste like purple!"Comment

Love the indian and the uniform has great ww2 touches, but ride armor...REALLY. That wasn't worn till motocross became popular (in what the 70's). Body armor was only worn by gunners in bombers. A leather jacket sure but armor BLECH
if they wanted to go ultimates costume they should have gone all out and do that but don't mix in stuff that wasn't worn or even an idea if you are doing period shotsComment

I was thinking the same thing.
I'm guessing many hardcore fans will like it, but not what the general public's perception of Captain America should be.
They need to cater to the 40-50 year olds who grew up with Cap in the 70's.
That's the bullseye to shoot for.Comment

I would say they need to entertain the people who are in their 40's etc but they need to capture the kids who will be the ones buying the comics in the years to come. But by no means should they dumb it down like what happened to GIJOE. That movie blew all kinds of chunks.
I'm not too blown away by any of these pictures but I'm betting it will look good on film. I'm more impressed with Thor at the moment.Comment

I'm getting a heavy "League of Extraordinary Gentleman" vibe from this. I don't think it will be so bad. It'll probably be 1,000 times better than the Captain America that's come before.Comment

But, I have been wrong before...Comment

It could go either way I see some things I really like and some I don't.I think I'll reserve anymore comment until I see more images.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

I like the comic nerd in costume analogy. Captain America needs to be charismatic in a very military sort of way, IMO and is supposed to inspire patriotism, strength, and leadership. I wouldn't follow that dude anyplace, much less into a fight."Steel-like jaws clacked away, each bite slashing flesh from my body - I used my knife and my hands, and when they were gone, my bloody stumps - and yet the turtles came."Comment

Heres an interesting shot where you can see the back of Cap's helmet. I think the studio need to get some proper promo shots online asap, because these ones don't seem to be selling the film. Lots of bad reaction so far for large stunt fellow in baggy suit.
