I can dig it although I'm shocked that Fables isn't a weekly drama.
Interesting. If done right, could be amazing.
But all I can remember are Roger Avary's story about trying to get a Sandman movie made; they were trying to force him to make it into a B-level Superhero story.

Everything I've read and heard, it looks like Fables fell into developmental limbo during the writer's strike.
I know they were selling it as a weekly series. I still hold out hope. Fables is a fantastic read for all those adults who grew up with Fairy Tales but just couldn't accept their endings as true endings as children.
As for Sandman, I'd love to see it done as an anthology type show, like the Twilight Zone, the Outer Limits or even Tales from the Crypt.
Dream having a cameo at the beginning, and possibly being the Deus Ex Machina for the ending. We haven't had a decent horror/thriller anthology in primetime for too long a time.
I'd rather see Fables as a TV series than Sandman.
If I'm remembering correctly, Avery's Gaiman-sanctioned approach was that everything inside the dreaming would have been animated in the manner of the Quay Brothers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6xG4Nf9Dh4
Still holding out for Gaiman to be given the opportunity to direct his adaptation of Death Time of Your Life.
