    The Batman on Boomerang

Saw tonight that Boomerang gave SWAT Kats the boot in favor of The Batman. Not sure if that's good thing or a bad thing, only because that's a time slot not going to an older cartoon.

      Hmmmm....

I could see them replacing SWAT-Kats 'cos there's only 20 or so episodes. "THe Batman" is currently popular, so that's why they'd pick it up.

It's not a BAD show; but like the new movies they're supposed to be showing the early part of his career and it leads to all sorts of weird continuity. Like "what happened to the mech?" And "when did the Penguin become a ninja master?" If they'd have made a NEW character and done the show like this it would have been cool.

I think you have to take the BATMAN as it's own contiuity just as the Timm BAS, SAS, JL, JLU represent thier own continuity and the Filmations their own. Each of these shows are based with classic stories and characnters blended to the current kid audience. A prime example is Mr Freeze. In no 2 versions is his back story identical beyond the Horrific accident that prevents him from living above freezing. In the original comic he was just a smart crook with thugs who had cold based crime plots and drove around in an ice cream truck. The 66 show had 3 diffent actors and 3 different personalities. The 68 filmation used the original comic version, 77 filmation batman animated's Freeze was a moron who tool credit for everything. Timm changed him to a tragic figure ahab like which became the new standard for the character, and in batman & robin he was just a bad pun (of course so was the movie)
