New Bone Graphic Novel (you know, for kids!)

I just noticed at Walmart that the new Bone Graphic Novel is out (and it was only seven bucks!).

This is a great place to start if you've never tried this series. It collects a number of stand-alone stories and gives you an idea of the kind of humour and adventure that the main storyline is filled with.

I like to describe Bone as Duck Tales meets Lord of the Rings. I really has the feel of those old school Carl Barks style Uncle Scrooge Adventures, in an epic fantasy setting.

I loved Bone. Recently got rid of my individual issues and trades and upgraded to the giant tome.

Yup! Smaller format ("manga sized") than a regular comic and collects Stupid Stupid Rat Tails and other shorts alongside new material by Jeff Smith!

I have all the hardcovers, but the colour really works surprisingly well, so I've been buying all the Scholastic editions as well. I have no doubt that large premium format colour versions will also come out at some point, but I think I'm done buying Bone again and again, unless there is a wealth of extra material included.

Bone is also spinning off a series of prose novels illustrated by Jeff Smith, and written by the same fella who did Stupid Stupid Rat Tails!

I love Bone! So far I have 1-5 of the Scholastic reprints. They look gorgeous in color.
