I love Byrne's original run, and I hope this can recapture that. I read others' takes on the book and characters over the years, and was never really impressed. Though they did create a large cast of characters to draw on for this book if they want to.

        That's mighty impressive.

Always liked Alpha Flight. I have all the Byrne issues from the original series, and they're amongst my favourite comics.

Byrne's Alpha Flight was my favourite comic as a kid. No other incarnation has really grabbed me since. I would totally be on board an "Alpha Flight Forever" type series where they just let Byrne continue on from issue 28 or whatever issue he handed it off to Mantlo.

It appears this cover is an Avengers variant, so it's in Bendis' ball court (since he killed them off in the first place). They are in the middle of an alt-future universe(s) arc right now. I'm assuming Jiminez is not doing the interiors.

Monday brought news of the three-issue Chaos War: Dead Avengers series, and next up is Chaos War: Alpha Flight — a one-shot reuniting the classic Alpha Flight lineup, even though most members of the Canadian super-team are no longer in the land of the breathing.
