I just finished the 1st 3 Issues last night...
This book to me is Fantastic.
It's got 5 Hot Chicks in the Book ... and Who Better to draw them, than Benes. I think He's the Go-Too for Porno Chicks in Comics these Days.

Hawk is Written so BAD *** Attitude like. With a very dry sense of Humor. I can't help but laugh out loud when reading, with all of his SOOOOOOOO "Arnie" Short movie lines.

I think Gail Simone is Unstoppable on Team Books right now. There is No 1 Better, ... and Now She gives me 2 books to look forward to every Month, With the Secret Six, and Now Birds of Prey.

Here's some stuff I thought was fun from Birds of Prey # 3
Penguin was stabbed in the Neck ..., by a yet unknown Adversary, and Went into a Dream realm, thinking in and out of Reality. I thought it was fun stuff.

I was so glad to see this book return, especially with Simone & benes on it. What a bone-headed move cancelling it in the first place.

The art is great, the story truly interesting. Dove is a great addition (although I could do without Hawk who is a really boring one-note character). I'd like to see Manhunter back in again, maybe Mera. Gail Simone is truly at home doing these team books, Secret Six is another top of the pile series. I suspect she had too much editorial meddling during her Wonder Woman run, which was disappointing at best.

And of course, for me, the real draw of the book is Lady Blackhawk. Oh, man, I so want DC Direct to do an LB mini-bust or statue. Or action figure.

... I like Hawks 1 Demention Character ...., and with These 5 Chicks, it's really so Much Fun. Because any One of them, could Probably Kick his Arse, However ..., He thinks He's the 1 Bringing it. And the Fact that Dina Hates Him so, makes for an Interesting Chemistry.

The Book is good, Real good. Neat stuff.
#4 came out Yesterday too.

Yup, I love "The Birds", and Benes being back was what drew me in! I bought ALL of his last run, and I'll be there as long as he's on the Book!

It became a bit of a mess after Simone left the book before (or was taken off for Wonder Woman?), so I can see why it was cancelled at that time.

But a little over a year later and it's back, so go figure. Maybe they should have just left Simone on the book in the first place and skipped her on Wonder Woman which was indeed lackluster.

I may have to pick this up. The book floundered after Chuck Dixon left, but Simone's run was equally great. And Benes...hey, he can draw, and he draws pretty ladies.

Simone is back on BOP and my favorite Hawk and Dove pairing are now part of the team? Heaven!

Gail ought to Team-up Hawk with Guy Gardner. Has that ever been done?
