    Time Masters

    Well,
I just picked up Time Masters : Vanishing Point # 1 ..., and Ultimately More Important ... The Search For Bruce Wayne .

Looks like Dan Jurgens Just sorta Moved Everyone from BoosterGold over to that Book, then Added Superman And Jordan to His Cast .

1st Issue Was good ..., and Being someone Who has been reading The Return of Bruce Wayne ( only 3 issues so far) I got More outta What Jurgens Wrote in Time Masters as far as whats going on with Bruce in the Time Stream, than in Morrison's "Riddle Me This Batman" Hints in The Return of Bruce Wayne books . Although, I did enjoy the Time line stories themselves.

    Jurgens IS the Man !
When He's doing something, I enjoy His Book every Month and is an Easy Top 5 Read for Me over many other things. I expect Great Stuff Here ...., And Finally after almost 2 yrs of horse Crap in the Batbooks , with the Exception of Red Robin ... Bruce Will come Home .

Comic Shops are idiots sometimes when it comes to stocking a New Series on the Shelf .... I sorta think some stuff is a No Brainer to some Degree. They should really read the previews of a books solicitation sometimes.

My LCS doesn't get tons of foot traffic...but when they order light, and comics come out on Wednesday (and all of the DIEHARD GEEKS are there lining up to get their books....actually pathetic....some of these guys can't afford soap )....I don't get there til Saturday so I'm screwed. And it seems to be DC books that are usually missing.

Today for example....I got the last copy of Jonah Hex and I Zombie. I Zombie has been the last issue every week it's come out for the past 4 months by the time I get there on Saturday. They should bump up the order...

I've only ran across a few of these characters in Comcbook Shops ..., But they seem to be a 8to1 Ratio at Walmarts .. Which is sorta Ironic Because Soap at Walmart is like 50cents a bar ..., Chicks too ! People of Wamart ...,Man if this Chick I saw Yesterday doesn't wind up on that Site, somebody didn't do thier Job Right.

          I just really Notice ...,
That alot of New stuff That I want to pick up, or that I am interested in, and so is everyone Else, is Hard Grabs sometimes, and Usally isn't really figured out till issue 4or5 ..., or sometimes Not all all.

Oh dude, that's one of the reasons I stopped going on Wednesdays....Only if I absolutely have a fear I need to get something that I think will be sold out. (Last time I think was when Wednesday Comics first issue came out). Some of these guys are sooooo freakin' ripe it's disgusting.

And then you've got the geeks that are constantly talking and debating....Definitely the ones that give Comic Book Guys a bad name. I like to quietly grab the books I want and then cash out.

I cringed last year when one of the workers was talking to someone else about Lost and I tipped my hand when I chuckled to myself (so I thought) about his comments. He bugged me every week after that asking my analysis of each week's episode when cashing out. I tried to be polite and make a hasty exit In a way I'm so glad the show is over so I don't have to endure that excrutiation anymore

It's different here....I can control who and what I respond to here instead of being blind-sided by some smelly ******* that lives in his mom's basement. At least here if that's the case my olfactory senses are oblivious.

Jurgens has been one of my favorite artists and writers since the original Booster Gold series from the 1980s. He always delivers and is an under-appreciated talent.

Though I don't want him to leave the book, when Johns does move on from GL, I'd like for Jurgens to take a run at the character.

I buy too many Comic Books, so I haven't been picking up this mini-series. But I'll probably get it when in comes out in TB.

IMO Jurgens is one of the best, most consistent creators out there that DC has...If he's not signed to an exclusive contract, he should be.

I'd love to see him take on the Batman titles some day or even Wonder Woman....he's shown he has the chops for guys like Supes, GL and Booster...I'd like to see what he'd bring to the table for some of the other DC guys.

Jurgens would do fine on Batman, I'm sure. Heck, a Superman/Batman arc would be cool, too.

I don't ever wanna see Jurgens Stray far from Booster Gold and Rip Hunter.
I think His Time Line "Slider" Sci-Fi Type of stories are Fantastic, and I could read them to the End of My Days.

I've always liked Jurgens' stuff. Art and story. He was one of the main players behind the Superman books of the late 80s and 90s that I enjoyed so much. His Batman evokes classic Neal Adams, which is always a bonus. I'd love to see him on Batman or Detective.

Dan Jurgens came from the Jerry Ordway tradition of art, which I like. (Dan having inked Ordway a bit.)

                              The Superheroes look heroic.

It's not over rendered, it's not underrendered. It's not photorealistic, but more "comic" realistic than any of the Manga inspired artists.
There's a nice sense of page design. His close ups of faces invoke emotion...

My only complaint is that sometimes his faces for the same characters sometimes change drastically from panel to panel... but heck, no one's perfect.

Dan Jurgens NEEDS a good inker. When he inks his one stuff it looks just as crappy as John Byrne's inking his own stuff, or Klaus Jansen. (Klaus Jansen is a wonderful inker, but stuff he pencils and inks make my head hurt.)

But when Jurgens has a good inker, like Breeding or Rubinstein it's a sight to behold.
