Ted Kord Returns as the Blue Beetle Today!

Also co-stars Mister Miracle and Big Barda for that old school JLI vibe. The only thing missing is Kevin Maguire's facial expressions on the inside (but dig that cover). Really wishing they would send JM Dematties over to dialogue Justice League Generation Lost.

Go out and buy bucketloads of Booster Gold, or else you are admitting defeat and accepting Jamie Reyes as the One True Blue Beetle for the next decade or so until Geoff Johns gets around to Ted Kord way down on his "To Do" list. ("*WHAT* Hawkman's broken again? Didn't I just fix him?")

Jaime Reyes IS the one true Blue Beetle.

he has earned the title, he has earned the name, and he's not going away any time soon.

Ted can't be used in any 'non comic' agreements, due to a perpetual contract with an old radio show.

Jaime is it. Get used to it.

if that's correct then how did Batman B&B get around it for the Fall of the Blue Beetle episode which not only used all the 80's beetle designs but clearly named him as Ted Kord?

So, same soapbox, just changed the name from Green Lantern to Blue Beetle, huh?

As to the use of Ted Kord in other media, I believe that Bruce Timm has stated that the old radio series is no longer a factor.

It may be a factor if WB tries to create an old timey radio program based on the Blue Beetle, cause that's what all the kids are into.

If the block on Blue Beetle still existed, you couldn't see Jaime or anyone else in other media. It's somewhat elementary that it revoled around "Blue Beetle" and not "Ted Kord" who never even had a radio series.

While I don't mind the modern incarnation of BB, his place in history is yet to be determined. Now if you'll excuse my "New Coke" is getting warm.

Without a doubt he was the most successful one, an eleven year run.

Well, Dan Garrett was the Blue Beetle from 1939 to 1966 and he had a long running comic series, radio show and a weekly newspaper strip. That's what I was getting at.

Ted's tenure was over 30 years but like Jaime, he couldn't support his own title. I liked it although he was much better in JLA.

I always thought BB and BG were lame. 5th or 6th string heroes at best.

I find that part of their appeal.

Dude ...., You seriously gotta Give the New Booster Gold series a shot... Issue 0-34 ..., It's awesome. And He IS " The Greatest Hero the World has never Known" .

I like the Classic 87 series of Booster Gold too.
It's some Fun 80's stuff at it Finest....., Booster Gold's personality has calmed down a bit since then, he is less arrogant, and not Quite the Pompus Arse, But with his New Series, This Guy is Far from a 5th or 6th Stringer. I'd put Him on 2nd+ String for sure. Even more so with current A list directions of Bruce, Wonder Woman and Green Arrow with his Merry Men ??? ...
