I absolutely HATE the retconning Marvel has been doing in regards to Cap's ICONIC costume...That artwork is HORRIBLE!Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging! -

I hate the costume change, but I love the idea of a Cap series set during WW II.
Cap is a great as a man out of his time, and as a hero in general, but the character's origins were rooted in WWII and I just think it's going to be fun to see his history unfold with modern story-telling techniques.
I'd love to see a Superman or Batman book starting 1938 or 39, or a Hal Jordan series set 1959-60 in his jet jockey heyday.Comment

and of course there is Byrne's first issues of Generations.

What's even worse then the costume is the number of stars on the flag. Doesn't anyone check that kind of stuff.Comment

Hmmmm....
It's really.... mediocre. Looks like a generic superhero outfit. (Actually, he looks a lot like Marvel's old Captain Mar-Vel. With pants.) And if you want to get technical, wouldn't wings like that indicate a jump qualified trooper? So I guess that's okay....

Have you read Detective 27? Bruce Wayne's not quite Batman in this Elseworlds, but it is written by Michael "Batman Begins" Uslan!
But these characters are also very much of the time they were created, and I think it would be fun to read ongoing stories about them in that time period. There were a couple of Batman miniseries a few years back that were close with Hugo Strange and Azzerallo's series with Batman, Spirit and Doc Savage is in the same wheelhouse.
But what about Superman? When he wasn't quite so powerful. Set in an Art Deco style Metropolis. I know I'd probably be the only one to buy it, but I think it would be fun.Comment
