Who do you like to write and draw a new Rocketeer series?

Darwyn Cooke? Mark Shultz? Art Adams? William Stout?
Who do you think would be a good creative team for Cliff and Betty's new adventures?

I never thought about it before, but Mark Schultz would do great with a retro character like this!

Neal Adams drew Rocketeer around the time of the movie adaptation.

This was originally intended to be published in Rocketeer Adventure Magazine before it went on permanent hiatus.

There really was only one man that could really do Rocketeer the right way...and unfortunately he passed away at a really young age...RIP Dave Stevens.

If I had a gun to my head...I could see it being written by Roy Thomas and Penciled by Jerry Ordway.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
              The beauty that surrounds them
              Isn't it a pity".

              - "Isn't It A Pity"
              By George Harrison

Yes, after Dave Stevens, I can't imagine a better artist for Rocketeer than Mark Schultz. I can remember a couple years ago going to the comic book store and buying original Pacific Starslayer comics (where the Rocketeer made his first appearance) along with my coveted back issues of Xenozoic Tales, 'cause I was going through kind of a retro/pulp phase back then. That character and that artist would be perfect for each other, I think. Schultz would do great with the Betty Page character!

As for a writer, Darwyn Cooke definitely comes to mind. I don't know that much about him--haven't gotten New Frontier yet but after flipping through it at the bookstore it is now very high on my list.

Maybe "counter-intuitive" teams could put an interesting spin on it, but I'd love to see the artwork keep with the classic illustrated-style form.

Honestly....Nobody. That was Dave's Baby and he oversaw everything on it and being the perfectionist he was it took along time for it to come out.

but if i had to choose, either Steve Rude, Mark Shultz,Eric Powell or Darwyn Cooke would be fine choices.
Writing you can't go wrong with Danny Bilson and Paul de Meo who wrote the Rocketeer movie.....

I still have this wish they would have reprinted this without the 3D and in full color.....

I always enxisioned a Will Eisner Rocketeer, or a Jack Kirby one. Fun to think about what could have been too...

I'd love to see some Alex Ross covers. Not sure who I would want for the interiors.

Mark Schultz would be great, as would Darwyn Cooke. Jordi Bernet might be an interesting take, or Dan Jurgens (inked by Ordway).

Jose Garcia-Lopez, too. And Dan Spiegle.

Keep in mind that even the original Rocketeer saga that was recently reprinted in one beautiful volume, wasn't 100% Dave Stevens. I think it's well documented that Mike Kaluta, Art Adams, Sandy Plunkett and others pitched in on the art in The Rocketeer Adventure Magazine issues, and the Rocketeer movie scriptwriters were helping to write the comic as well.

                              Art Adams...
