I read it, wasn't anything wonderful. Nice Amanda Conner story in there though, but then I find just about anything she draws entertaining.
Had another story with lots of guest-appearances by other DC heroines, but mostly one of those "ain't she a wonder-ful woman" snoozers. DC really likes to do those "how the rest of the heroes view the trinity" things don't they?
The Strazynski pre-story didn't impress me, decent art on it, but nothing I'd want to continue following. One of those start in the middle stories, didn't seem like anything new & exciting though. Just my opinion.
I didn't like the first little story inside it. (Too much "its the bad guys! pew pew!" for me). I also skipped whatever that was about the graduation because I don't know any of those characters.
But the other stories were cool. I liked the Wonder Woman and Power Girl team up. It's funny that she doesn't know what Anime is and the others are trying to avoid telling her what a tenticle monster is all about.
I'll be buying #601 as well. I like the new storyline.
I think it's pretty obvious to anyone reading it that all the fuss is pretty much over nothing.
It's an "Age of Apocalypse" or "House of M" type of story. Diana's time-line has changed, she knows it and is getting flashes of the "regular" timeline, and this is all a self contained 12 issue quest to boil her character down to it's essence before returning you all to your regularly scheduled Wonder Woman, star spangled spanky pants and all (which I think only a minority of us on this board were reading to begin with anyway).
Just like on Thor, it seems like a device for JMS to tell his self contained story without having to cross over into whichever Crisis or Blackest Night style "event" is on the horizon, or have to deal with all the continuity baggage.
I'll read it eventually, but I'll probably wait for the trade, and at that point I'll feel comfortable to state an informed opinion on the storyline.
With that said, I think it was totally awesome to get George Perez back on Wonder Woman for a story where he gets to draw Vanessa and Diana (and every other female character in the DCU). The only surprise for me was that Batwoman didn't vote for Obama (although I guess she does come from a pro-Military background).
Lots of great pin-ups, but Phil Jiminez's two page spread was pretty mind-blowing.
The Amanda Conner story with Power Girl and her cat was cute... kind of funny that between WW #600 and Dex-starr's origin in Green Lantern #55 that we've got two cat-themed stories this week. Being a former cat-person (now dog-person), I totally "get it", but I'm not sure others would. I'm astonished that DC marketing didn't grab Secret Six as well and declare this Cat-Week in the DCU.
I read it and liked the JMS story. I'll be waiting to see what's next. I didn't think I'd go for it but after reading it, I was interested in where he's going with it but does seem to me she'll be back in her original time and state. If he returns Wonder Woman to her to the original time line I'll love it.
One of the 2 things I didn't like about the G. Perez re-boot was she lost her history and Steve Trevor as her love interest so if JMS fixes that I'll love it.

I think it's time they brought back Steve Trevor as a love interest as well. The animated movie has shown that it can be a fun relationship in a contemporary setting.
I'm not sure if that means going back to Diana's military background again though, given their history. I don't think she functions as well within that context, although the Secret Agent Diana Prince stuff is intriguing. I'd actually like to see how Greg Rucka would handle that given how well written Queen and Country was.
The story with Power Girl was pretty cute, but I also kind of liked the one with Superman - just and old-fashioned team-up. While the last story (that kicks off the Strazinski run) definitely leaves you with the impression that this timeline will eventually be corrected, I'm already looking forward to it ending. I have a lot of questions about this reset. Does it affect anyone else's continuity? Diana is connected to a lot of other characters. I still don't like the new costume, especially now that I've seen the imprint her gauntlets leave on people she hits. That's just silly. I also got a chuckle when the Oracle showed up - also wearing a jacket and choker.
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?
