He could be okay, have to wait and see.

By the way, the People article beginning almost made me do a spit take...

I hope there's a scene where he says how much he likes lasagna.

Here is some of the Green Screen test footage that landed him the part.

But since this comes from Marvel directly it seems Garfield is our boy.

If he can act, he'll do. At least they didn't go for the overly "dreamy" type. That doesn't fit Peter Parker.

Odd that he's 27 though. He'll be in his mid 30s by movie 3, if this set goes that far.

They should have cast the kid from that Percy movie, he looked better and is young enough to hold for 3 movies.

              I guess time will tell.

                Hmmmm....

In the olden days it was assumed that a superhero comic fan had a life expectancy of three years: then they'd find other interests and move on, and the book would get tweaked for the new crop of fans. Is it possible that they see superhero MOVIES in this light now? So.... hairboy is signed for a series of Spidey films, and he's old; but it's now assumed they'll reboot the series after two or three films?

A comprehensive worldwide casting search? As if a non-American really had a chance

Well, yeah, but would you cast a German as spider-man?

No, I wouldn't, but I wouldn't call it a "comprehensive worldwide casting search" either

Come on...you know he's gonna have a make over hairstyle for Spidey...come on now...lol.

                        I kinda like him...yes...a bit old...but I'm glad he's not a pretty boy...he's got a good geek look...not bad.

                          Exactly.

That's why I started hating the Spidey movies...the mask always get ripped off...at least partially...so can see see Tobey Maguire's stupid face in the action sequences...lol.
