Interesting... I thought someone big like Marvel or Disney did that recently.
And in all fairness to Werewolf, Toyroom etc., when I was originally
clicking on this thread, altho' I didn't have any preconcieved notions about
what version of PEANUTS I'd definitely see... I DID briefly flash on that they
were sold recently...but I forgot to who.

The entire series is on line and I'm digging it. It's Mad Magazine meets Underground Comix with an Image Comics veneer.

      Deep Fried Comic Archive

So far, in the first few issues, "Chuck" has taken out both the Beetle Bailey and B.C. cast, and there is a conspiracy led by Dagwood's Boss, Dilbert's Boss, The King from Wizard of Id, Mary Worth, and others.

Haven't gotten to the part where he encounters Calvin or Garfield yet.

          Peanuts is sacred stuff.

Anyone messing with Shultz's creations is the same as messing with the Bible and Jesus.

Just enjoy the magic and move on.

The only think I would change is that his gun should be a Schultz 666.

                      HAW!

It's a pretty good comic; I read a bunch of them a while back. It's not really a pro comic or anything; it's a self-produced web comic. (As I understand it.) It's essentially what would happen if all newspaper comics shared a universe, and that universe had the final apocalypse. Very over the top, and reminiscent of the old school undergrounds.

'Course I find it kinda funny how many folks are incensed over it....

I guess it's to be expected whenever someone takes a poke at a beloved icon, whether it's Mad magazine's Archie spoof or the Undergrounds messing with Disney.

Although to actually read it, it's obvious that the cartoonist actually has a great deal of affection for most of the Funnies characters he's lampooning. Particularly Charlie Brown and the character's tropes established by creator Charles Schulz.

Yeah, he has a LOT of knowledge on old, obscure funnies.

It appears that Mr. Weatherbee sure has gone stale with pick-up line ideas.
