    Which Starman is your favourite?

Any of the three Knights? The blue Alien? Ditko's? The former Legion Starboy? Batman?

    Jeff Bridges? Robert Hayes?

Or do you prefer StarGIRL or The Star Spangled Kid/Skyman?

Ted and Jack. I loved the fact that towards the end of Robinson's Starman series, Ted shows that he still is/was Starman. I always thought Robinson was subtley hinting that Ted was Starman in his series all along.

I don't have a favorite version of the character, just a favorite book with the title:This series is why I care about Starman at all. He wove every incarnation of the character into a mythos, and at the end of the book passed the mantle onto Stargirl. Great stuff.

I never read that Starman series. Was Payton's sister a part of the supporting cast of that book? What was her character like?

They introduced a character named Sadie in the Jack Knight series, who turned out to be Payton's sister. She sends him into space looking for Payton, and when he finds him, I think it was revealed that Payton had died and the superhero everyone thought was Payton was actually Prince Gavyn (the Ditko Starman).

Much as I love the original JSA, gotta go with Jack Knight- one of the best comic series of all-time.

Although I think this versions pretty cool (but those are some nasty teeth in close-up!):

Every time I hear a Bowie song from that era now, I associate it with the fantastic british version of Life on Mars which used his music really well.
