    DC War One-Shots In September

Glad to see DC going back to their war books, even if it is a series of one-shots:

    Our Army At War #1:

    Weird War Tales #1:

    Our Fighting Forces #1:

    G.I. Combat #1:

    Star-Spangled War Stories #1:

As a child I was totally enamoured with WWII books. I loved picking up those three packs that had SGT. Rock, Our World at War and Haunted Tank. I seriously doubt they could recapture those stories and overall vibe, but I'll check them out.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Looking forward to the Haunted Tank & the Mademoiselle Marie issues the most! I think there is a Losers special too.

Glad to see they're keeping these set in WW2 as well instead of "updating" it like that terrible Haunted Tank mini they did last year in Iraq. But I'll bet no one edits these closely enough, because whenever they do this period stuff lots of anachronistic speech shows up. Characters using modern era slang instead of period talk. Hoping they do the research and do it right.

I wish they'd have just made a continuation of the series numbering and added a new issue to the history, though.

I grew up reading Sgt Rock and GI Combat. You know that old saying that you can never go home again but I'm hoping they do these comics right...

                  Ditto.

I seriously hope they can do the comics of old justice.I have tons of old sgt. Rock books and I've yet to see anything in the last decade that captured the spirit.

I hope these work so I can have a reason to hit the comic shop on wednesday's.

if the don't The DC showcase presents line of black and white reprints are a great substitute to buying back issues and affordable as well.
