    RIP Al Williamson

Comic great Al Williamson passed away over the weekend at 79 years old. He was a fantastic artist from the EC era, noted for his work on Flash Gordon & Star Wars (both the comic book & the newspaper strip). He also did work for warren in Creepy & Eerie.

I met Al a few years ago at a local convention, and he did a Flash Gordon sketch for me. A really nice man and an artist of fantastic talent.

Amongst his many great works, Williamson also inked some of Curt Swan's Superman work in the 80s, and the combination was fantastic.

      Another legend gone.

Very sad to hear, he was a fantastic artist. I met him at a convention about 20 years ago. He was very nice, I got him to sign a bunch of my ECs. I'm glad I still have them. RIP Mr. Williamson.
