Same here. Looks good to me. As long as it's a progression in an existing storyline, I think this kind of change is great. Looks cool.

With the Vertigo characters returning to the DCU, it's probably a moot point, but my understanding is that a couple of years ago DC traded the Deadman name to Vertigo in exchange for the return of Animal Man to the DCU in 52/Infinite Crisis.Comment

In tribute to the fact that we could not even get past the first page, I present y'all with this little ditty from the hit broadway and west end musical Avenue Q.

You know the Vertigo "Deadman" series featuring a non-Boston Brand concept...That sorta tanked, no?

On the one hand, you have low selling but critically acclaimed books, like The Human Target and The Losers, which eventually make some money via trade paperback collections. On the flip side, do they get a payday when the property is licensed to Film and Television, or do they give the "sweetheart" deal with parent company Warner Bros' film division on Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Constantine and the always in development hell Sandman and Death movies?
At this point I think the R&D for film/TV angle in publishing these books will be worth more than any profit they get from the print version. You also have everything from Y the Last Man, to Preacher, to Fables, and I'm sure Swamp Thing in various stages of development over the years.
I'd imagine that a film/TV version of Deadman might in fact have more in common with the Vertigo incarnation than the DCU Circus acrobat in costume.Comment

That's how I feel about it.“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”Comment

At least you have some cool Italian heroes to root for!
Although I am beginning to understand the sports analogy when it comes to Superheroes and their nationality and ethnicity. Particularly as my city is brimming with World Cup Fever and the flags of the world are all over our streets after our moment of combined national pride this winter hosting the Olympics in Canada.
Being a Canadian myself, thank goodness we've got Wolverine as a point of national pride.
I guess I would be somewhat upset if they did not portray the character as Canadian in the movies, but it doesn't really bother me that he's played by an Australian actor (as long as he isn't doing it with an Australian Accent... I'M LOOKING AT YOU SPIDER-MAN AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS).
I also remember being quite upset as a kid when they killed Guardian... he is Canada's version of Captain America after all.
and then who else do we have left? Puck?
On the other hand, you know who should be really upset? The Irish.
They killed Banshee!
So who's left beside's Banshee's daughter Siren?
SHAMROCK!
and JACK O'LANTERN
The Irish really need to get their message board protests going. Otherwise the only Irish cartoon character left will be on a box of Lucky Charms.

I'm really not that into my heritage as some would think because of the "Italian" label....about as far away from "Guido" as you can get. Consider myself more an American who's Italian than an Italian-AmericanAll that crap you see on TV is too woppy for me.

In Geoff Johns own words
http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/06...n-blue-beetle/
When we first meet Aqualad in BRIGHTEST DAY he’s Jackson Hyde. An average student, with an on-and-off girlfriend, that’s pretty bored in New Mexico.
Since he was young, he’s been taught by his parents to fear water…they don’t want him near it because his true parents would be able to locate him. Not to mention certain changes happen to Jackson when he gets in the water.
Jackson has kept this secret hidden for years, lying to his girlfriend about being afraid of drowning, being unable to swim and being in the dark about the mysterious tattoos he’s had since birth. He’s done his best to avoid it. But soon something’s going to force him out into the open and dive into the water.
Obviously, this all ties into the larger Aquaman and Mera story within BRIGHTEST DAY, but Jackson’s adventures will also be seen in the YOUNG JUSTICE animated series this fall along with more DC characters than you could imagine.Comment
