I gotta read the article, but its a shame that stuff is being considered bad
in some way...I always thought seeing those guys around GRAUMAN's was
pretty fun and it never lost it novelty with since I moved here about a

I've read stories where these guys have been harassing people, almost to the point of extortion. They annoy people until they give them money to go away. I'm not saying all of these folks are doing this, but it has apparently become a problem.
Plus it was only a matter of time. You have folks dressed up in unlicensed costumes without the permission of the copyright holders accosting tourists, in the town where many of the companies have corporate headquarters. Sooner or later, there was going to be a crackdown.
