I'm liking the first issue, i think it shows alot of promise

I agree...I was sort of worried DC would do an "updating" similar to the atrocious '90s Shadow & Avenger series, but it's been great so far. The art is good too. I like the fact that Pat Savage was changed to a media star instead of a beauty shop owner, that made sense. The Five are portrayed correctly (except for Johnny's ponytail!).
Wish I could say the same for the justice Inc. backup, which I think is terrible. Again, an uneccessary update that changes too many fundamental pieces of the original premise.
The First Wave Spirit book has been good to so far. I had the same mixed feelings about that, but I'm liking that too.
