That's what I envisioned when i did my tweaking, like plane stencils. I like the A, but hate the piping, and the shoulder pads, they would hinder a soldier more than help him, being they are strapped on, and attached at the belt. chain mailing is completely flexible in comparison.

I think it looks Awesome.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
always trading for Hot Toys Figures .Comment

Looks like crap.....Basically it's Ultimate Cap. They should have stuck with the iconic costume....just modernize it slightly ala Bryan Hitch in Reborn....Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

I don't know why the movies feel like they have to run away from the traditional costumes.
Yeah, they are silly looking, but that's what you expect with a super hero. I almost thing the Nolan Batman movies go too far in trying to explain all of the gear. I really wish the creators of the films would do more work on the film's plots than trying to justify or explain away things or change them to make them more modern or realistic.
If they want to make a realistic movie, making a super hero action movie isn't the best choice. The costume is a convention of the genre.Comment

It's all remains to be seen.
If it's all put together well, the strict-canonical-comic-accurateness of a costume has not been a deal-breaker for a successful and well-received movie to date (Batman, for instance.)
Seriously, unless they put Cap in a Tu-tu, the costume is the least of our worries. Based on the pics in this thread, if they get the other stuff right, it could still be a good movie.Comment

I keep thinking of THE ATOM everytime I look at that wingless cowl."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I think Christopher Reeve's Superman is proof that you can directly translate a costume from comics to screen, and have it work. That picture of Captain America looks like they're trying to split the difference between bright costume and military gear, and I don't think it works. He doesn't look like a mythic superhero. He looks like a fancy-pants soldier the other soldiers make fun of.Comment

Funny The 1940's Cap movie couldn't get the suit right either and this was back in the day when the studios would get the costume right no matter how cheesy it looked......
He has no wings,No shield, the flag design is only in the front of the costume and he shoots a gun.........
Here's the trailer

Not bad, but I'm not all that excited either. But the helmet really does need wings. I can pretty much forgive the modern look of the suit, but no wings? That's like Batman with no bat on his chest"...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment
