    Swamp Thing back at DC

    Wow, this is great news:

DC will be doing a new Swamp Thing series set in the DCU and not Vertigo. I look forward to this!

I am very curious what this does to the Vertigo line. Although, other than Hellblazer and the backlist trades, it doesn't really apply to much of their current output like Scalped or DMZ these days.

Great news! I never really understood the division between "church and state" over at DC/Vertigo anyway. Some of the best Swamp Thing stories were when he interacted with the DCU proper, especially Batman. And we should all remember that the JLA appeared in Alan Moore's 1st Swampy arc, so there's some history there, even though Moore's Swamp Thing is one of the groundbreakers that led to Vertigo...

i'd be willing to bet this has less to do with getting the characters back into the DCU proper and more with a media tie-in. I would not be surprised to hear an announcement concerning a Swamp Thing movie or series, or even that he'll be guest-starring on Smallville next season.

Still, it will be good to see Swampy back meeting Batman & co.
