Was the Elfquest Movie ever released??

I remember there being an animated movie based on Elfquest a while back...does anyone know if it was ever released? Thanks for any help on this.

I don't think so....I believe Warner Bros had an option a few years back but nothing ever came of it...

I think it is still being worked on at some level.....there has been talk of a movie for 20 years though so until it is actually in the can I won't get too excited.

interesting. never seen that before. wonder if it is actually a movie as opposed to motion comics ala the 60's Marvel toons. too bad it is so high priced otherwise I'd be tempted to pick it up

Wow, I hadn't thought of that in years. It was in production longer than just about any comic movie I know of. I never did hear if it was finished.

On a similar note, did that Gen13 movie ever come out? A lot of the BTAS guys worked on that during the initial break between Batman and STAS.

Does Elfquest even have the fanbase anymore to support a movie?

Your pretty much on the money with that assumption. Unfortunately there is no more fan base for Elfquest...That said, I would still love to see it if it exists.

It never "Officially" came out...but it is out there. I have one, and it definitely has the BTAS look to it. I just don't think it's kid friendly

Haven't watched the whole thing just yet...I just got it a couple of weeks ago. It definitely is a little too violent, from what I've seen so far, for kids.

                      Hmmmm

I asked a freind of mine about the Elfquest movie, and he didn't know anything specific; but I kind of agree with his opinion:

                      >I'm betting that the only thing that exists is possibly a (non-finalized) script, partial storyboards and one small sequence of mostly finished animation for the purposes of showing investors/marketers.

I have been delving back into Elfquest just recently. Have not read it in at least 20 years, storyline still holds up well. I am really remembering why I loved this so much when they did the Marvel run. As far as the fan base, just check out the price the graphic novel versions are fetching on ebay. Unreal. books are out of print and commanding big bucks for the collections.
I actually live near Wendi and Richard Pini. Had friends who lived in the same neighborhood and even dated a girl in that neighborhood. Of course I did not realize at that time they lived there. Met Richard at the local comic shop at some point in the eighties
